Tomorrow, Santa may be resting up from his long night, but City employees will be on the job to ensure that Atlantans have a safe, healthy and happy holiday. Workers from the Departments of Watershed Management (DWM), Public Works (DPW), Aviation and Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs (DPRCA), Information Technology, as well as the Fire, Police and Corrections Departments, will be on the job while their neighbors, friends and families celebrate the holidays
Those at work include the signalization crews from DPW, who respond to traffic signal problems; supervisory control workers, distribution maintenance crews, water treatment, raw water pump, wastewater treatment plant, CSO facility and pump station operators, and maintenance crews from DWM, who work to ensure that customers have clean, safe and reliable drinking water; and regular police, fire and corrections personnel. Forestry crews from DPRCA, who respond to reports of downed or dangerous trees; and emergency wastewater crews from DWM, who respond to sewer emergencies; will be on call
Police, Fire, Corrections and Aviation are 24/7 operations, and, consequently, will be on the job as usual.
