The City of Atlanta is pleased to announce that with the hard work of city personnel great strides have been made in the continuing clean-up following Sunday’s inclement weather.

The customer service representative was on hand Sunday afternoon in the 9-1-1 Call Center to receive calls from residents reporting fallen city trees. As of 12:00 p.m. today, there were 46 trees down as a result of the storm and 25 have been cleaned up.

The Department of Watershed Management’s effort was targeted at the rain, catch basin maintenance and flood prevention rather than the snow. On Friday, catch basin crews began cleaning all the known problem areas and continued this effort through the weekend. The Department added 4 additional crews on Saturday and 4 additional crews on Sunday. A total of nine crews worked each day.
