The estate of Kathryn Johnston brought a civil action lawsuit against the City of Atlanta, Chief Richard Pennington and several Atlanta police officers related to the death of Ms Johnston on November 21, 2006. The City Law Department is not defending or providing private counsel for the police officers Tesler, Smith and Junnier in this civil action.
The city will not comment on this pending litigation.
