city of atlanta involvement with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
The City of Atlanta is currently pursuing stimulus funding provided through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). This funding includes federal tax cuts, expansion of unemployment benefits and other social welfare provisions, and domestic spending in public safety, housing, energy efficiency and infrastructure. The City is working closely with the Office of the Vice President and the funding agencies to secure funding across a targeted list of 38 programs. To date, $80 million has been committed to the City of Atlanta for energy efficiency, public safety, housing and homelessness, and airport programs.
